Contractor lanyards

A contractor lanyard is a neck strap that already says Contractor. The site office puts it on a trade with their induction card, so anyone in the corridor can see they are a contractor, not someone who works there. You can order the ones that already have the word on them, or send us how many you need and we will quote the job.

In short

What it is on a site

On a building site, this is the pass the office issues with an induction card. It hangs around the neck, usually with the card in a holder, so a trade is easy to see walking the corridor.

It is for people who are allowed on site and have been inducted: electricians, cleaners, IT, caterers. Guests at the desk still get visitor lanyards. People who work there get staff lanyards.

Offices and schools use the same idea, even when nobody is wearing a hard hat. A contractor in the corridor still needs to look like a contractor. Guests are covered on visitor lanyards, and people who work there are covered on staff lanyards.

Colours and the site office

The colour on the strap does not come with a meaning. You decide what it means on your site. A lot of offices put trades on orange, because it is easy to see, navy on people who work there, and a brighter colour on guests. Write that down at reception so a new starter knows who is who.

If the induction card needs to clip onto the strap, we can include holders. The name on the card is usually yours. Price depends on how many you need and what you add. You will see it on the product, or ask us for a quote with how many you need and whether you would like holders included.
